Paragweld ARC Series

Paragweld ARC Series Manufacturer

A 630 A arc welder sits at the heavy end of manual metal arc (MMA or stick) welding. At this current it can burn large-diameter electrodes, which lay down more metal per run on thick plate, structural steel and heavy repairs. Stick welding needs no shielding gas, because the flux coating on the electrode protects the weld, so the machine works well on open sites, in wind and on steel that is not perfectly clean. It is the process many fabrication shops rely on for structures, tanks, pipe supports and plant maintenance.

The Paragweld ARC Series currently has one model, the Paragweld ARC 630 I, made in India. It runs on a three-phase 415 V ±15%, 50/60 Hz supply and gives an output current of 40 to 630 A, with adjustable arc force from 0 to 100 A. It takes electrodes from 1.6 mm up to 6.3 mm, is rated at a 60% duty cycle and has an IP21 housing with class F insulation.

frequently asked questions (FAQ)

The ARC 630 I takes electrodes from 1.6 mm up to 6.3 mm, with output adjustable from 40 to 630 A. Smaller electrodes suit root runs and thinner steel, while 5 mm and 6.3 mm electrodes give high deposition on thick plate and heavy fill passes. As a rule, larger electrodes need more current, so the wide range lets one machine cover both kinds of work.
Arc force adds a short burst of current when the arc length drops, for example when the electrode dips into the weld pool. This stops the electrode freezing to the work and keeps the arc steady. On the ARC 630 I it can be set from 0 to 100 A. Use a higher setting for basic or cellulosic electrodes and positional welding, and a lower one for a softer arc.
The machine needs a three-phase 415 V ±15%, 50/60 Hz supply. As a high-output welder it should have its own properly rated connection, isolator and input cable, sized by a qualified electrician. Contact our team before installation and we will share the input details for your setup.
Yes. The ARC 630 I has a built-in hot start function and anti-stick technology. Hot start gives a brief boost of current as the electrode is struck, so the arc starts cleanly even with a cold electrode. Anti-stick cuts the current if the electrode freezes to the work, which protects the electrode and makes it easy to break free.
Yes, stick welding needs no gas, so it works well on site. The machine weighs 54 kg, so plan to move it with a trolley or lifting aid rather than by hand. Its IP21 housing guards against fingers and vertically dripping water but not rain, so keep it under cover and off wet ground when working outdoors.
