Product Description :-

Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding or Metal Active Gas (MAG) welding, also known as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) is a semi-automatic or automatic arc welding process in which a continuous and consumable wire electrode and a shielding gas are fed through a welding gun. A constant voltage, DC power source is most commonly used with MIG/MAG, but constant current systems, as well as AC, can be used. There are four primary methods of metal transfer in MIG/MAG, called globular, short-circuting, spray, and pulsed-spray, each of which has distinct properties and corresponding advantages & limitations.

The Process became highly used in industry. Today, MIG/MAG is the most common industrial welding process, preferred for its versatility, speed and the relative ease of adapting the process to robotic automation. Unlike welding processes that do not employ a shielding gas, such as MMA, it is rarely used outdoors or in other areas of air volatility. A related process, flux cored arc welding, often does not utilize shielding gas, instead employing a hollow electrode wire that is filled with on the inside.

frequently asked questions (FAQ)

The Paragweld MIG 400 I is a MIG/MAG welding machine made in India and listed in the Paragweld MIG Series alongside the MIG 600 I. It feeds a continuous wire electrode through the torch under a shielding gas, which makes it suited to fast, clean welding of steel in fabrication shops and on production lines. A specification sheet is shown as an image on this page.
As the smaller of the two Indian-made machines in the series, the MIG 400 I is suited to general fabrication, structural steel work, frames, tanks, sheet metal enclosures and repair jobs. MIG welding is fast and leaves little slag to clean, so it works well where many joints must be welded quickly. For heavier work, the MIG 600 I in the same series may be a better fit.
Like other MIG/MAG machines, the MIG 400 I is typically used with CO2 or an argon-CO2 mix when welding mild steel. Paragweld also supplies PW MAG-1 (AWS ER70S-6) copper-coated solid wire, which suits both 100% CO2 and argon-CO2 mixes, and PW FC 71T-1 flux-cored wire. Please check the wire sizes the machine supports with our team before ordering consumables.
Industrial MIG machines of this type normally run on a three-phase supply. Please confirm the exact input voltage, power rating and cable size for the MIG 400 I with our team before installation, and have a qualified electrician make the connection with proper earthing. Call +91 90990 14043 or use the contact page to get the full specification sheet.
Keep the machine in a dry, ventilated place and, with the power off, blow dust out of it at regular intervals using dry compressed air. Check the torch liner, contact tip and nozzle often and replace worn parts. Keep cable connections tight and check the gas hose and regulator for leaks. These simple steps keep the arc stable and extend the life of the machine.
Both are Indian-made MIG machines in the Paragweld MIG Series. The MIG 400 I is the smaller model for general fabrication, while the MIG 600 I is intended for heavier work that needs more output. Share your material, plate thickness and daily welding hours with our team through the contact page or on +91 90990 14043, and we will suggest the right model.
