Fiber Laser Welding Machine

Fiber Laser Welding machine Manufacturer

Fiber laser welding joins metal with a concentrated beam of light generated inside an optical fibre and carried through a flexible cable to the welding head. Because the beam is focused on a very small spot, it melts a narrow zone quickly and puts little heat into the surrounding metal. The result is a neat, narrow seam with low distortion and very little spatter, so welds on stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium sheet often need little or no grinding.

Paragweld offers three fiber laser welding machines, the PW1500, PW2000 and PW3000. Each uses a MAX or Raycus laser source at 1070 nm, has built-in water cooling and a 10-metre torch, and lets you set the laser output from 5% to 95%. The range also includes a 3 kW Laser Cleaning System for removing rust, paint and oxide from metal surfaces.

frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Both give clean welds on stainless steel and aluminium, but laser welding is much faster and puts less heat into the job, so thin sheet distorts less and needs less finishing. Paragweld PW machines are rated for welding speeds from 1 to 120 mm/s. TIG is slower and needs more operator skill, but it tolerates wider gaps and poorer fit-up, while laser welding needs closely fitted joints.
Choose by the thickest material you weld regularly. The PW1500 is rated for mild steel up to 6 mm, stainless steel up to 5 mm and aluminium up to 3 mm. The PW2000 handles 8 mm, 6 mm and 4 mm, and the PW3000 handles 12 mm, 8 mm and 6 mm. Share your material and joint details with our team and we will recommend a model.
The PW1500 and PW2000 run on a 220 V single-phase supply, while the PW3000 needs a 415 V three-phase supply. All three use argon or nitrogen of 99.99% purity as the auxiliary gas, which shields the molten weld pool from the surrounding air. Which gas suits your material and the finish you need can be confirmed with our team.
Yes. The PW machines are listed for welding, cutting and cleaning. The PW1500 and PW2000 are rated to cut sheet from 1 to 3 mm, and the welders can clean a strip up to 30 mm wide, which is useful for preparing joints and removing heat tint. For large surfaces, the dedicated 3 kW Laser Cleaning System gives cleaning widths of up to 150, 225 or 300 mm depending on the focusing lens.
The 1070 nm fiber laser beam is invisible and can damage the eyes and skin, including through reflections from shiny metal. Operators should wear laser safety glasses rated for this wavelength, and the welding area should be screened so that other people are not exposed. Only trained staff should operate the machine, and fume extraction is advisable when welding coated or oily parts.
