Product Description :-

The 500 A MIG welding accessories are replacement parts for a 500 A MIG torch, the largest pattern in the Paragweld MIG accessories range. They are used for heavy-duty MIG/MAG welding on thick plate and long production seams, where high current and large wire sizes put more load on the front end of the torch and parts need regular replacement.

Ten items are listed: a conical nozzle, a tapered conical nozzle, a gas diffuser, an insulator, a tip holder and a swan neck, all in 500 A size, and a torch handle with switch. Contact tips come in 0.8 mm, 1.2 mm and 1.6 mm, in both copper and copper-chromium-zirconium, and MIG liners are available in 3.5 metre and 5.5 metre lengths.

A 500 A torch is the natural match for the Paragweld MIG 500 Pro, which gives 50 to 500 A and takes wire from 0.8 to 1.6 mm. It is also a sensible choice on a 400 A machine that runs near full output for long periods, because a torch rated above the working current runs cooler and its parts last longer.
Large wire such as 1.6 mm is run at high currents, which heats the swan neck, contact tip and nozzle. A 500 A torch has heavier parts that handle this heat better. The 500 A range lists contact tips in 1.6 mm, in both copper and copper-chromium-zirconium, along with 0.8 mm and 1.2 mm tips for smaller wire.
Set the voltage and wire feed speed correctly for your wire size, keep a steady torch angle and stick-out, and use a suitable shielding gas. Apply anti-spatter gel or spray to the nozzle and gas diffuser, and clean spatter off before it hardens. A clean nozzle keeps the gas flowing evenly and reduces porosity in the weld.
Use the right tip size for the wire, keep the wire clean and the liner free of dirt, and avoid touching the tip to the job. Tighten the tip firmly into the tip holder so current passes cleanly without arcing at the thread. Replace tips when the bore wears oval. At 500 A class currents, Cu-Cr-Zr tips usually last well beyond plain copper tips.
