The Paragweld Flexible Welding Carriage is used for linear seam welding on tanks, and on curved beams or steel structures that have an irregular curve. Where a rigid track would not follow the shape of the job, the flexible carriage can still carry the torch along the seam at a steady speed, giving a more even weld than hand welding.
The Flexible Welding Carriage is used with the MIG/MAG welding process. It is designed for easy connection with a welding inverter, so it carries and moves the MIG torch while your welding power source supplies the arc. Let our team know which MIG/MAG machine you already use, or plan to buy, so we can confirm the connection.
Weaving moves the torch from side to side in a set pattern as the carriage travels. It helps spread the weld across a wider joint and gives a flatter, more even bead, especially on fillet and multi-pass welds. On the Paragweld Flexible Welding Carriage the weaving can be programmed, so the same pattern can be repeated from one job to the next.
The hand pendant lets the operator control the carriage while standing in a more comfortable, ergonomic position, rather than bending over the torch for the whole length of the seam. This reduces fatigue on long welds and keeps the operator a little further from heat and fumes, while still letting them watch and adjust the weld.
The carriage has easy and flexible torch adjustment, so the torch can be set to the best angle and position for the joint before welding starts. A correct torch angle and a steady travel speed are what give consistent penetration and bead shape. Our team can guide you on setting it up for your joint type and plate thickness.
The Flexible Welding Carriage is meant for seams that follow curves or irregular shapes. The Magnetic Welding Carriage is a compact unit for straight runs in narrow spaces, and the Universal Carriage is a track based, non-magnetic unit for both welding and plasma cutting.
