The Paragweld Universal Carriage is a track based, non-magnetic carriage that moves a torch along a straight path at a controlled speed. It is designed for several purposes, mainly plasma cutting and welding. It is affordable and portable, making it a practical first step into mechanised cutting and welding for small and medium workshops.
Yes. The Universal Carriage is multi-purpose and is used for both plasma cutting and welding. The speed is variable, so it can be set for the cutting speed or the welding speed of the job. Changing from one use to the other mainly means fitting the right torch and setting the speed and torch angle for the new task.
Because the Universal Carriage runs on its own rail track instead of holding on with magnets, it does not depend on the job being magnetic. The track also gives a straight, guided path for long cuts and seams. Simple rail connections allow easy changeover, so track lengths can be joined or moved quickly between jobs.
The Universal Carriage uses a DC motor and drive, which gives smooth speed control. The operator can set the travel speed to suit the cutting or welding process and the plate thickness. A steady, repeatable speed is what gives clean cut edges when cutting and an even bead when welding.
The Universal Carriage has an XY slide unit that lets you adjust the torch position over the line of cut or weld. The torch head also has freedom to adjust its angle, so it can be set square for cutting or at an angle for fillet and bevel work. Set the position once and the carriage holds it along the whole run.
Choose the Universal Carriage if you need one portable unit for both plasma cutting and welding, or if you work on non-magnetic materials.
