The Paragweld Welding Rotator turns cylindrical jobs such as tanks, shells, pipes and vessels at a steady speed while the welder or welding head stays in one position. The Welding Rotator is used with various welding processes, including SAW, TIG, MIG and manual metal arc (ARC) welding. The rotator only turns the job; the arc comes from your welding machine. It is common to pair a rotator with a submerged arc welding head for long circumferential seams on thick-walled vessels.
The rollers on the Paragweld Welding Rotator are metallic rollers bonded with polyurethane. The metal core carries the load, while the polyurethane layer gives good grip on the job and helps protect its surface from marking. The rollers also have quick and accurate roll centring adjustment, so they can be set to suit different job diameters.
The rotator uses a superior worm gear reducer, designed to give high torque with low backlash. High torque lets it turn heavy jobs smoothly, and low backlash means the rotation stays steady without jerks. A steady rotation speed matters because, for a circumferential seam, the rotation speed is effectively the welding travel speed.
