The BW 125 is a set of air plasma cutting torch parts and consumables. It covers the wearing front-end parts and the main torch components, so a workshop can replace worn parts and keep its plasma torch cutting cleanly without replacing the whole torch.

The BW 125 range lists nine items: ceramic nozzle, machine shield, nozzle in 1.3, 1.5 and 1.7 mm sizes, electrode, gas tube, hand torch head, machine torch head, torch handle with switch and 2 pin switch. Together these cover the wearing consumables at the front of the torch as well as the main torch body parts.
The BW 125 nozzle is listed in 1.3, 1.5 and 1.7 mm orifice sizes. As a general rule, a smaller orifice suits lower cutting currents and thinner material, while a larger orifice suits higher currents and thicker plate. Match the nozzle to the current set on your machine, as the wrong size wears quickly and gives a wider, rougher cut.
The hand torch head is used with the torch handle and switch for manual cutting, where the operator guides the torch. The machine torch head is made for mounting on a cutting carriage or CNC table for straight, repeatable cuts. The machine shield is listed for use on the machine-mounted side. Choose the head that matches how you cut.
Replace the electrode when its centre insert shows a deep pit, and the nozzle when its orifice is worn oval or burnt. Other signs are a hard-to-start arc, bevelled cuts, a wider kerf and more dross. Changing the electrode and nozzle together gives the most consistent results.
The ceramic nozzle is the outer cup at the front of the torch. It holds the front-end parts in place and shields them from heat and spatter. The gas tube guides the compressed air around the electrode so the arc stays centred and cooled. Replace the ceramic nozzle if it is cracked, and keep the gas tube clean and undamaged.
