Paragweld TIG 300IGBT

Parag Weld TIG 300IGBT

Product Description :-

Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, also know as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), is an arc welding process that uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode to produce the weld. The weld area is protected from atmospheric contamination by a shielding gas (usually an inert gas such as argon), and a filler is normally used. A constant-current welding power supply produces energy which is conducted across the arc through a column of highly ionized gas & metal vapors know as a plasma.

GTAW is most commonly used to weld thin sections of stainless steel and non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, magnesium and copper alloys. The process grants the operator greater control over the weld than competing processes such shielding metal arc welding & gas metal arc welding, allowing for stronger, higher quality welds. However, GTAW is comparatively more complex and difficult to master, and furthermore, it is significantly slower than most other welding techniques. A related process, plasma arc welding, uses a slightly different welding torch to create a more focused welding arc & as a result is often automated.

frequently asked questions (FAQ)

The TIG 300IGBT is a three-phase TIG welding machine with an output current range of 10-300 A. It sits in the middle of our TIG range and suits fabrication shops, maintenance teams and contractors who weld stainless steel, mild steel and other metals, from thin sheet up to medium thickness sections.
The specification table lists the arcing method as high frequency arc. A high frequency start lets the arc jump from the tungsten to the job without the two touching, which avoids contaminating the tungsten and leaving tungsten in the weld. This gives cleaner starts, which is especially useful on stainless steel and on welds that will be on show.
The TIG 300IGBT runs on a three-phase AC 415 V (±15%) supply at 50/60 Hz. The table lists rated input power of 8.4 and 12 kVA and rated input current of 18.4 and 12.7 A. Give these figures to your electrician when sizing the supply cable, isolator and breaker for the machine.
It means the TIG 300IGBT can weld for about six minutes out of every ten at its rated output, then needs about four minutes to cool. For long runs near the top of its 300 A range, plan short breaks. For most work at lower currents the machine can weld for longer periods before it needs to rest.
Yes. At 14.4 kg and 465 x 200 x 365 mm, the TIG 300IGBT is lighter than the TIG 250A (16 kg) even though it offers a higher 300 A output. That makes it easy to move around a shop floor or take to site. Its IP21 housing should be kept out of rain and away from dripping water.
Choose by the thickest material you weld regularly. The TIG 300IGBT covers 10-300 A and weighs 14.4 kg. The TIG 400IGBT extends the range to 10-400 A, lists electrode sizes up to 5.0 mm and weighs 21.5 kg. Both use high frequency arc starting, a three-phase 415 V supply and a 60% duty cycle.
